High Point Farms, LLC is Committed to providing our customers with high quality Grass-Fed beef as well as Other local meats (such as: pasture pork, chicken, lamb) and  free range EGGS

               as nature intended – and as our ancestors enjoyed!  

 

At High Point Farms our all natural, grass-fed beef is humanely raised on rotationally grazed pastureland. This environmentally friendly atmosphere produces cattle that are healthy and stress free. They are able to mature naturally without the use of antibiotics, steroids or artificial hormones to speed growth and weight gain. Our commitment is to offer beef that is 100% natural and raised on a totally vegetarian diet. 

We also work with another farm in order to offer Pork and Chicken that is humanly raise , free ranging also without the use of antibiotics and growth hormones.  These products are only sold at the farm NOT at any farmers markets.

All our processing is done at a certified organic butcher WITHOUT THE USE OF NITRATES OR MSG!!!!

Robert & Tina MacCheyner are natives of the Finger Lakes area and wanted to raise our family in a country setting.

When we purchased High Point Farms in 1998 ourr primary goal was to grow more nutritious food for their family. Our first venture was a roadside stand where we sold fresh vegetables from our garden to the public. A few years later we joined the Trumansburg Farmers Market where we met many other vendors and customers who shared our interest in foods that were fresh, wholesome and grown in a natural and environmentally friendly manner.

In 2002 we began to consider the health benefits of raising our own beef. We visited nearby farms learning about the various breeds of beef cattle. One farmer we met raised Scottish Highlands. After one look we had fallen in love with the heritage breed! Highlands are the main breed in our herd today.


The Scottish Highland is among the oldest breeds of cattle known. Originating in Western Scotland and recognizable by their long, shaggy coats and majestic, sweeping horns, the Highland is a hardy breed that has remained unchanged for centuries. Their long thick coats act as natural insulation making them perfect for upstate New York winters. They are a well mannered, gentle and by nature are great foragers. We also purchased Black Angus and other beef breeds for our herd.  



Once we starting working with customers we found that the demand and need is HIGH for humanly raised meats. In order to meet this need we are now working with other local farms to meet these demands. In doing so we are able to provide our customers with Grass-Fed beef, Pasture Pork,Free Range Chicken and Eggs. All are humanly raised without the use of growth hormones or antibiotics..
